Specific "Church Life" goals
We endeavor to live a DAILY Christian life interacting with other believers from house to house - Acts 2:42, 46
And they continued steadfastly in the teaching and the fellowship of the apostles, in the breaking of bread and the prayers. … 46 And day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they partook of their food with exultation and simplicity of heart - Acts 2;42, 46
Our focus is people, not "meetings." Therefore, we foster relationships with the saints and with other people as the center of our church life. Our assembling together is a matter of the Spirit, not outward form or regulations as often seen in religious organizations. We believe that the home affords the best opportunity for intimate, open fellowship among God's family, the believers in Christ. The home is the basic unit of God's salvation for husbands and wives, for their children, and for outreach to neighbors, friends and family members in the world.
We believe in the practice of the “breaking of bread” (Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34) on a regular basis in order to remember the Lord and to declare His death until He comes.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed it, and He broke it and gave it to the disciples and said, Take, eat; this is My body. 27 And He took a cup and gave thanks, and He gave it to them, saying, Drink of it, all of you, 28 For this is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. - Matthew 26:26-28
For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread, 24 And having given thanks, He broke it and said, This is My body, which is given for you; this do unto the remembrance of Me. 25 Similarly also the cup after they had dined, saying, This cup is the new covenant established in My blood; this do, as often as you drink it, unto the remembrance of Me. 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you declare the Lord's death until He comes. 27 So then whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man prove himself, and in this way let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not discern the body. 30 Because of this many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep. 31 But if we discerned ourselves, we would not be judged. 32 But being judged by the Lord, we are disciplined that we may not be condemned with the world. 33 So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. 34 If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, that you may not come together for judgment. And the rest I will set in order when I come. - 1 Corinthians 11:23-34
To bread break together is of utmost importance in the church life. It is an expression of the unique oneness found only in the Body of Christ based on the divine life of Christ lived out of each member of the Body. Therefore, when we break bread together according to the Spirit's leading, we are open to all believers in Christ. We are not for our own little assembly nor are we for a denomination or religious organization. We are for the Body of Christ expressed practically in the locality in which we live.
We pray individually and corporately to the Lord on behalf of our own neighbors, relatives, friends, coworkers and those whom the Lord places before us in our daily life.
