The Soul
The word for soul in Greek is psuche. This is different from and should be understood distinctly from the spirit which is pneuma in Greek.
The soul is the source of man's personality and is comprised of three main parts: the mind, the will and the emotion.
THE MIND
 Knowledge
When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul (Proverbs 2:10)
Also, [that] the soul [be] without knowledge, [it is] not good; and he that hastens with [his] feet sins. (Proverbs 19:2)
So [shall] the knowledge of wisdom [be] unto thy soul: when thou hast found [it], then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. (Proverbs 24:14)
 knows
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: marvellous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knows right well. (Psalms 139:14)
 considers, counsels, remembrance
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, [having] sorrow in my heart daily? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? (Psalms 13:2)
My soul hath [them] still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. (Lamentations 3:20)
THE WILL
 chooses, refuses
So that my soul chooses strangling, [and] death rather than my life. (Job 7:15)
The things [that] my soul refused to touch [are] as my sorrowful meat. (Job 6:7)
 seeks
Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD. ( 1 Chronicles 22:19)
 decides, vows
Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. (Psalms 27:12)
The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; [and] he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. (Psalms 41:2)
Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary [food], and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way. (Ezekial 16:27)
THE EMOTION
 love
Tell me, O thou whom my soul loves, where thou feedest, where thou makest [thy flock] to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions? (Song of Songs 1:7)
 hate
Their soul abhors all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. (Psalms 107:18)
 joy
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh [himself] with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth [herself] with her jewels. (Isaiah 61:10)
 grief
And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel. (Judges 10:16)
 desire
And thou shall bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusts after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desires: and thou shall eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shall rejoice, thou, and thine household (Deuteronomy 14:26)
