The Family:  God's Unit of Salvation
Microsoft Word Document
To be a Christ-seeker is the essence of God's economy.  We are not Christians because we have all the answers.  We only have broad principles in the Word of God and we must seek the living Christ, who is the Spirit, for the proper application and realization of the Word in our living.  And even more so, when we talk about pursuing Christ (Philippians 3:12-14) and living Christ (Philippians 1:20-21) we should immediately consider our family life because most of our life is related to our family.  Yet, often Christians have a huge gap in their so-called church life and their family life.  We live one way in the church meetings and quite another way in our daily life with our spouse and children.  Many Christians think that we mainly receive the Spirit in church meetings.  But if we consider how much time we spend in meetings of the church versus at home, we will surely realize that most of our time is spent with our family and on our job.  We spend most our time with our spouse, raising our children, and working.  This is nearly ninety (90) percent of our life!  Yet, we think that the meetings of the church, comprising the other ten (10) percent of our life, is where we gain the most spiritual life and growth.
We are not saying that gathering together is not of the Lord.  It is.  But can we begin to have a proper perspective that Christ has arranged and ordained for us to gain Him in our daily life?  The Lord has given us our particular family and particular job as the main avenue of gaining Him since these are where we spend most of our time.
