Hymns with Modern Tunes
Many hymns are precious because of the utterance of the subjective, personal experience of Christ in a believer's life.  Hymns are basically composed of two items: (1) words - utterances, and (2) musical composition (melody, harmony).  Often, the musical composition is as crucial as the utterance itself.  Some saints in the past ten years have taken some precious hymns and rewrote a musical composition, giving a new fragrance to its already beautiful lyrics.
